This is one of my degree 1st year assignment. We have to design a leaflet for a brand that choosen by us. I have choosen Zara - TraFaLuc as my target design.

The main colour for my design is black and white.

Why black an white? Is not just the color that i like, during this assignment i was quite worry when trying to apply the color on it.

TraFaLuc is a series that came out from Zara, focus on youngster. It doesn't focus on one type of style, it can be vintage, nautical, hippie and so on.

Thus, this made me to think of to use black and white. Since different style stand with different color, and i believe that black and white can mix well with all the color nicely.

Why choose bold font? As i refer back to Zara logo, their logo is quite simple come with bold font. I have a habit of reading fashion magazine, and i found out, bold font are usually use to bring out the feel of strong, it might lead you to think more on it, perhaps can be brave, fashionable, or even trendy. Why elegant font was not same with other fonts and why italic? This is because it give me a feels that it should be something soft and wavy. Adding the italic feel to the font will make it looks more strong to bring out the feel of it.

I love to paint birds, especially their feather. Whenever i have a new painting, i will want myself to learn something new from it, not just painting without learning nothing from it. Why painting need study? If I wanna paint a birds, i will study on it's feather, how should it be paint in a nicely way, how should it's eyes look more lively. All these will help me improve a lot in my painting skill. =)

This painting help me improve a lot in my painting skill. It takes me some period to finish it, it need a lot of patient to draw out all the detail part.

Even though is hard, but i enjoy every moment when i drawing it. Whenever i start painting different part of this painting, i will have to study on what kind of painting way i will need to apply on it, so that it looks more real. =)

▽ Poster Image Design (assignment purpose)

TITLE : POSTER IMAGE DESIGN FOR A QUOTE THAT RELATED WITH WOMAN

I have choosen this quote to work on my poster image design : -

If a woman is sufficiently ambitious, determined and gifted - there is practically nothing she cant' do.

This work is done during my foundation year. During the class, we have been taught to use different key words from the quote to bring out the message that contains in the quote. I have choosen ambitious, determined and gifted to work on. Using city and the strong contrast to bring out the feel of ambitious and determined. Woman are gifted with lovely, mother nature characteristic, therefore i use flower and red color to represent woman. Did you notice out the outside frame, it's actually a mirror frame. Why i use mirror frame? This is because I tend to bring out the feel of self confidence when a woman is not afraid to look at herself towards the mirror and love herself more.

There is a changes for my final design during the submission of assignment. Lecturer want me to change the face of the woman into the face of mine. I was kinda surprise with that, and I did it too. Still i prefer the original one, but lecturer said with my face in, the meaning of it will be stronger.

This leaflet was done during my foundation study. During the computer graphic class, we have been ask by our lecturer to create a leaflet for MMU - E-gallery.

Picture and information are given by lecturer, all we need to do is rearrange them and apply our own design on the leaflet.

E-gallery a place for exhibition purpose or even for student to showcase their artwork, therefore you have to know that things that putting inside is always will be something new or unique creations that main for exhibition purpose.

I tend to play with light blue, light red and light yellow. This kind of colors will always give people a feel of soft, but for me it makes me feel like playful. As i design for my leaflet, i do think of it's purpose which was to let people read it well. Even though it is full with words, but i believe that with a good arranging of photo and font, plus a good leaflet design, people will read it without feel bored.

Using calculation method to sketch this out. I couldn't said i'm good at sketching, still have to improve a lot on shadow part.

Will have another try on this method soon, even though it waste a lot of my time, but it worth, at least i have learn a lot in drawing a human feature. =)

An interesting assignment that given by my lecturer. It was a good experience to work on it. I have never been to design any monumen before, and from this assignment i get to know how a monumen design can affect a branding company. With just monument, people will easily get to understand, it is own by who. I have choosen to work with HP, it was quite fun to find out all the idea to work on this design. I believe that doing all the assignment with a curious thinking will help us to learn and explore me. I dont know this work on others or not, but it works on me. =)

This assignment was done during the first year of degree. The very first time i was expose to design something like this, with just font. Indeed it's a new attempt for me. My work are always stay in a concept of simple. You can see through most of my work, are simple as they can be, i don't really like something that is too complicated.

▽ Folk Lore - Character Design (assignment purpose)

This is my very first time designing the storyline's character. I found it quite hard, when you wanna simplified something. It's like you have to do something with simple without abandon the feel of the original. This is what i think on this assignment.

My storyline -

Once upon a time ago, there are 3 animal living in the forest. They are jade rabbit, fox and a monkey.

One day, 3 fairy coming from the heaven wanna find out is there are still a kind heart living things in the world. So, they made a test on 3 different animal that live in the forest.

The Jade Rabbit willing to sacrifice itself for the fairy, but the other two animal can't do so. Therefore the fairy was touch by the Jade Rabbit and let it living in the palace of the moon.

I have a habit of reading newspapers every morning, sometimes i feel like kinda surprise to see some advertisement are way to simple, there can make it more interesting. As we all know that a good advertisement will manage to bring out the message to the viewer easily.

A mistake I have done over here is forget to take the picture of the original ads. I only can tell you how the original ads looks like. Basically the original ads contains with words and only a picture of a small aeroplane. This ads is done by a vacation agency, offering a good bargain for those who like to visit japan.

The first time I look at this ads, I felt like it should be more attractive to attract viewer. So, i choose to redesign it.

The previous ads using the words "日本", which means Japan, to show out the location of the place. For me i would think that even though the words of Japan is enough to bring out the message that location is Japan, but don't you think that it should be adding much more beautiful scene that represent japan. As we all know that people are easily getting influence by images. With the help of images, the meaning of the font will be more strong.

Therefore i re-design it into this design, with a warm color, a feel like welcoming you to visit Japan. Notice out the word "去", which means go, i purposely put a flower behind it to high-light the word of "去" , asking viewer to go. =)

Why choose t.v as my target to illustrate it out? I love those old day's memories. Didn't you happened to have this old t.v. in your home before? My house have one, but it can't function anymore. Therefore i choose to create it out, hoping that my house old t.v. still can function, but i know it wouldn't. =P

No matter how time change, those precious memories that contain in our mind will never change.

This assignment was given during Interaction Studies class, lecturer has given us a few choices of links to choose to re-design it. Basically, for the re-design part, i choose to focus on the font size and color usage of the page. As what can i get to read from the webpage, this site are mainly visit by those elderly. Therefore, i choose green as my re-design webpage color. As we all know that green is good for our eye sight. =) Big font is a sure for elderly to read clearly without mistake.

I start my logo design by apply to word "V" on it. This is because my nick name VICKY start with a V. Then i think of to make it into a butterfly shape to represent i like freedom or even my dream and ambition. What about the love shape? This is because i do all my work with my passion and love on it. =)

Applying the color of black and white for the logo.

Final design, will prefer for applying color like red on it. Can bring out the feel of passion and love.
